ABOUT MR. WHITE
Mr. White is a registered professional civil engineer. He began practicing as an engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) with a traditional engineering design firm in 2000 while completing his graduate research at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Mr. White continued to practice in the areas of public works and infrastructure, water production, and water and wastewater treatment with a regional, multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering design firm in Lubbock until October 2012. At that time, he accepted an engineering project management position with Jim D. Koontz & Associates, Inc. (JDKA) to practice under and be mentored by Jim D. Koontz, P.E., RRO in the forensic discipline assessing building envelope design and building material and systems damage and failure, particularly related to roofing. During his tenure with JDKA, he served as a laboratory technician, roof construction observer, roofing systems designer, design/bid/build project manager, forensic investigator, consultant, expert witness, and appraiser/umpire.
In 2019, upon Mr. Koontz’s pending retirement, Mr. White independently incorporated KWA Engineering & Building Science Co., Inc. (KWA) while continuing to practice full-time with JDKA until December 2022. He currently serves as president of KWA and is the managing partner over the forensic and materials testing laboratory sectors of KWA.
Troy and his wife Jill will have been married for 30 years in July 2026 and have four sons together, ranging in age from 35 to 16. They are active members of First Baptist Church of Shallowater, Texas. Troy is a hobbyist musician and currently serves in the praise and worship band at the church. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. His love of fishing led him to serve as a volunteer local event coordinator for the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation, a nationwide 501(c)3 organization providing fishing experiences for special needs children and their families/guardians.
